I made coffee for the first time. (Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe)

Today, I made coffee for the first time. Some of you avid coffee drinker out there probably don't believe it, but it is true... I used to not like coffee, but I think I am growing to love it.  You should have heard me, I kept on asking my mom, "is this right?" "now what do I do"... I clearly had no experience...  I found a recipe on pinterest for Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte, since I had heard a lot about how wonderful they are at Starbucks, I thought I would try it.  RANDOM FACT time: I have never EVER been to a Starbucks before... Close you mouth. I know, I know, awful right?

So, I made the latte... and it was pretty amazing.  It was super easy and was a wonderful treat to spice up a normal school day.  I highly recommend trying out the recipe.

Boyer Girls // Portraits

Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to take these lovely ladies' yearly portraits.  It was so much fun and I'm really happy with the way the pictures turned out!  Below, are my favorites from the shoot.  I hope you like them! 

Have a awesome weekend!  I made cinnamon rolls today, um... they were amazing!  My brother, Isaac, seriously had six rolls... yes, I was counting... ;)

This picture is actually from summer.

  Last night we loaded our chickens up to take them to be butchered.  My job was to get in the pens and shoo them towards the opening for my dad to swoop them up and put them in cages.  It was a workout, because I was crouched down and trying to walk... not only was it hard, but I probably looked like a duck waddling.

The last three pictures were taken this morning.  I woke up, looked out the window, and saw frost everywhere.  I knew that I had to get some pictures of it, so I braced myself and ran out in the 40 degree weather wearing shorts and a tee shirt.  Yes, it was cold, very cold... but it was worth it.
 
In a couple of hours I'm going to be taking these girls portraits!  Eeks!

This is the outfit that I wore to church on Sunday.  It was freezing outside, like 45 degrees freezing!  I might look fine in these pictures, but in between pictures I had my arms wrapped around myself trying to stay "semi" warm.  I'm surprised I don't look like Rudolf the red nosed randier in these pictures!

Later that night, my cousin's baby had his second birthday party.  There, I ate way to many Cheetos...  RANDOM FACT: I'm the youngest cousin on both sides of my family.

This scarf, it's my favorite (oh, I have an obsession with scarves also...).  Thanks Jordan for one of the best Christmas presents!  It is soft, light, and really long so... I can wrap it multiple times around my neck. :) Pin It

I call this my "Artist' outfit, because for some reason, it just reminds me so much of a fashionable artist- painting outside- oils and acrylics staining her clothes and hands- a whimsical expression of something that only she knows, and only she can relate to the people around her on the canvas before her...

Making cake balls

Last Saturday we had a party/dance that we were going to and my sister-in-law, Jordan, and I wanted to make cake balls to take.  Feeling pretty confident having made them before, we started.  We decided against putting the balls on sticks, like we did the first time.  We crumbled the cake, made them into balls, froze them for the right amount of time, melted the chocolate, all was well...  Then we tried dropping the balls in the white chocolate (SO, yummy...), picking it up with a spoon and transferring it to the pan.  First off, it took a really long time, and no matter what we did, the balls were not getting totally covered.  After experimenting with a lot of different techniques and wasting a lot of time, we ended up dipping the balls by hand covering it halfway with chocolate, then drizzled melted milk chocolate overtop.  I was surprised at how pretty they turned out, even if they didn't look like the "perfect" cake balls.  

Even though the process was stressful, it was fun and the finished product tasted yummy!
