I made flourless chocolate cake for the first time last night for dessert and it was so good! It was super rich and with the whipped cream, it was heavenly. It would be a great simple dessert for a New Years Eve party. Enjoy! :)
Flourless chocolate cake: recipe from a Real Simple magazine
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces, plus more for the pan
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder,
plus more for the pan
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
8 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped
5 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup creme fraiche or sour cream
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar, plus more for dusting (I forgot to dust my cake... oops.)
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-inch springform pan and dust with cocoa powder.
In a medium saucepan, heat the butter with 1/4 cup of the heavy cream over medium-low heat until the butter is melted. Add the chocolate and stir until melted and smooth; remove from heat.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder; whisk in the chocolate mixture.
Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake until puffed and set, 35 to 40 minutes (my cake only took 30 minutes to bake.) Let cool in the pan for 1 hour. Run a knife around the edge of the cake before unmolding.
Using an electric mixer, beat the remaining 1 cup of heavy cream with the creme fraiche and confectioners' sugar until soft peaks form, Dust the cake with confectioners' sugar and serve with the whipped cream.

Christmas...
It was so much fun going to all of our family gatherings and having my siblings home (two of them are still home.) On Christmas day we had a baby calf!!! It was so exciting. At first my dad thought it was a boy (I was pretty bummed because we have the boys butchered for meat), then yesterday he found out that it was a girl!!! I think right know we are going to name her Belle.
She doesn't really have creepy blue eyes.
These are some of the things that I got from my family for Christmas...
Nail polish from Forever 21
Blue cardigan
Beef jerky (I LOVE it)
I Love Lucy season 1 and 2 (I am slightly addicted to I Love Lucy)
A forever 21 Cardigan
Gold ball earrings
Forever 21 earings
Chewy nerds
Work boots for milking
lavender scarf (you can see it in the family picture with a blue cardigan.
Happy wednesday! :) Pin It

Merry Christmas!
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree-tops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleighbells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.

And children listen
To hear sleighbells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".
I guess I'm just going to dream of a white Christmas this year...

Gingerbread houses
This week I made my very first gingerbread house! It was so much fun! No, I didn't make my own gingerbread (I know... I cheated). It was in a package from Joann's that had everything that you needed in it. It took us (My brother and I) a while but I think it turned out pretty well at the end. The final touches really made it. The gingerbread house that we made is the last picture.
Happy Thursday! I hope you are have having fun getting ready for Christmas! My Christmas chain says it will be here in THREE days! :)

Have you ever had frozen yogurt? We had some in North Carolina and it was so good!!! I really want to try to make some to see how it would turn out. Enjoy!

The Nameless Snack...
This snack is seriously AMAZING!!! My mom's family has always made it as a snack. We don't know what you would call it, so for now it is the nameless snack... Enjoy!
You can easily find cream drops at Christmas time, but not always at other times.
1 Saltine cracker
Peanut butter
1/2 of a cream drop
Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the cracker. Smash the half of the cream drop to the size of the cracker then lay it on top.
It is as easy as that! Pin It

Tree Houses
Can you imagine living in a tree? I think it would be amazing, but it would be awful if it was a windy day and your tree was tossing back in forth, and if your tree fell... I think there are a lot of things to consider.
I love all of the different designs that they have come up with. So creative... Happy Thursday!
P.S. My favorite is the 8th tree house.
